汉语，又称中文、唐话、华语，指整个汉语族或者其语族里的一种语言。汉语族为分析语的一支家族，属汉藏语系。汉语如视为单一语言，为世界使用人数最多的语言，目前世界有五分之一人口做为母语。其有多种分支，当中官话最为流行，其衍生而来的现代标准汉语，为中华人民共和国的普通话、以及中华民国的国语，同时是华人地区的通用语。此外，汉语还是联合国正式语文，并被上海合作组织等国际组织采用为官方语言。汉语在以其做为母语的地方会有不同的通称，例如在台湾、香港及澳门通称为「中文」，在马来西亚及新加坡通称为「华语」等。
Chinese, also known as Chinese, Tang dialect, and Mandarin, refers to the entire Chinese family or a language in its language family. The Chinese is a family of analytical languages, belonging to the Sino-Tibetan language family. If Chinese is regarded as a single language, it is the most spoken language in the world. The modern standard Chinese derived from it is the Mandarin of the People’s Republic of China and the national language of the Republic of China. It is also the lingua franca of the Chinese region. In addition, Chinese is the official language of the United Nations and is adopted as the official language by international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Chinese has different general names where it is the mother tongue. For example, it is commonly known as “Chinese” in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, and “Chinese” in Malaysia and Singapore.
