There are many different kinds of tones in ancient Chinese. The so-called &#8220;four tones&#8221; in traditional Chinese phonology are divided into four types of tones: &#8220;ping&#8221;, &#8220;shang&#8221;, &#8220;go&#8221;, and &#8220;ent&#8221;. This situation has existed at least before the fifth century.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u636e\u300a\u6881\u4e66\u00b7\u6c88\u7ea6\u4f20\u300b\u8bb0\u8f7d\uff1a\u201c\u7ea6\u64b0\u56db\u58f0\u8c31\uff0c\u4ee5\u4e3a\u5728\u6614\u8bcd\u4eba\uff0c\u7d2f\u5343\u8f7d\u800c\u4e0d\u609f\uff0c\u800c\u72ec\u5f97\u80f8\u887f\uff0c\u7a77\u5176\u5999\u65e8\uff0c\u81ea\u8c13\u5165\u795e\u4e4b\u4f5c\u3002\u9ad8\u7956\u96c5\u4e0d\u597d\u7109\uff0c\u5e1d\u95ee\u5468\u820d\u66f0\uff1a\u2018\u4f55\u8c13\u56db\u58f0\uff1f\u2019\u820d\u66f0\uff1a\u2018\u5929\u5b50\u5723\u54f2\u662f\u4e5f\u3002\u2019\u201d\u4e8e\u662f\uff0c\u201c\u5e73\u3001\u4e0a\u3001\u53bb\u3001\u5165\u201d\u56db\u58f0\u4e4b\u540d\u7531\u662f\u786e\u5b9a\u3002\u8fd9\u79cd\u628a\u8bed\u97f3\u7684\u58f0\u8c03\u6309\u7167\u5b83\u7684\u8bfb\u6cd5\u4e0d\u540c\u800c\u4e3a\u201c\u5e73\u58f0\u201d\u3001\u201c\u4e0a\u58f0\u201d\u3001\u201c\u53bb\u58f0\u201d\u3001\u201c\u5165\u58f0\u201d\u7684\u4f20\u7edf\u5206\u7c7b\u6cd5\uff0c\u79f0\u4e3a\u201c\u8c03\u7c7b\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>According to the &#8220;Liang Shu\u00b7Shen Yue Biography&#8221;: &#8220;Yue wrote four-tone scores, thinking that in the past, the poets had not realized it for thousands of years, but he had only got his chest, and was poor in his wonderful purpose. He said that he was a masterpiece. Okay, the emperor asked Zhou She: &#8220;What are the four tones?&#8221; She said: &#8220;The emperor&#8217;s sage is also.&#8221;&#8221; Then, the name of the four tones of &#8220;ping, going up, going, and entering&#8221; was determined. This traditional classification of the tones of a voice as &#8220;Ping Sheng&#8221;, &#8220;Shang Sheng&#8221;, &#8220;Qu Sheng&#8221; and &#8220;In Sheng&#8221; according to its pronunciation is called &#8220;Tune Class&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u968b\u3001\u5510\u7684\u5207\u97f5\uff0c\u5b8b\u4ee3\u7684\u5e7f\u97f5\u4e5f\u90fd\u628a\u58f0\u8c03\u5206\u4e3a\u201c\u5e73\u201d\u3001\u201c\u4e0a\u201d\u3001\u201c\u53bb\u201d\u3001\u201c\u5165\u201d\u56db\u79cd\uff0c\u53eb\u505a\u201c\u56db\u58f0\u201d\u3002\u540e\u6765\uff0c\u5404\u5730\u7684\u8bed\u97f3\u5927\u4f53\u4e0a\u90fd\u8fd8\u4fdd\u7559\u7740\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4e2d\u53e4\u65f6\u671f\u7684\u56db\u58f0\u7cfb\u7edf\u3002\u4f46\u8bed\u8a00\u4e0d\u8bba\u662f\u8bed\u97f3\u3001\u8bed\u8bcd\u3001\u8bed\u6cd5\u90fd\u4f1a\u968f\u7740\u65f6\u4ee3\u7684\u63a8\u8fdb\u800c\u6539\u53d8\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The Qie Yun of Sui and Tang, and Guang Yun of the Song Dynasty also divided the tones into four types: &#8220;Ping&#8221;, &#8220;Shang&#8221;, &#8220;Go&#8221;, and &#8220;Enter&#8221;, called &#8220;Si Tone&#8221;. Later, the phonetics in various places largely retained the four-tone system of the Medieval period. But the language, whether it is phonetics, words, or grammar, will change with the progress of the times.<\/p>\n<p>\u4ee5\u58f0\u8c03\u6765\u8bf4\uff0c\u5230\u4e86\u5143\u671d\u5468\u5fb7\u6e05\u7684\u4e2d\u539f\u97f3\u97f5\u4ee5\u540e\uff0c\u5317\u65b9\u8bed\u97f3\u7684\u201c\u5e73\u58f0\u201d\u5c31\u5df2\u7ecf\u5206\u5316\u6210\u4e24\u7c7b\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u201c\u9634\u5e73\u201d\u8ddf\u201c\u9633\u5e73\u201d\u3002\u5176\u6f14\u53d8\u7684\u89c4\u5f8b\uff0c\u5927\u4f53\u4e0a\u662f\uff1a\u53e4\u97f3\u5c5e\u4e8e\u6e05\u58f0\u6bcd\u7684\u5b57\uff0c\u73b0\u4ee3\u90fd\u5ff5\u4f5c\u201c\u9634\u5e73\u201d\uff1b\u53e4\u97f3\u5c5e\u4e8e\u6d4a\u58f0\u6bcd\u7684\u5b57\uff0c\u73b0\u4ee3\u90fd\u5ff5\u4f5c\u201c\u9633\u5e73\u201d\u3002\u8fd9\u4e5f\u5c31\u662f\u5317\u5e73\u8bdd\u7684\u201c\u5e73\u58f0\u201d\u6240\u4ee5\u5206\u4e3a\u201c\u9634\u5e73\u201d\u8ddf\u201c\u9633\u5e73\u201d\u7684\u539f\u56e0\u3002\u81f3\u4e8e\u201c\u4e0a\u3001\u53bb\u3001\u5165\u201d\u4e09\u58f0\u5728\u5176\u4ed6\u5404\u5730\u4e5f\u6709\u4e9b\u5206\u5316\u4e3a\u9634\u9633\u4e8c\u7c7b\u7684\u73b0\u8c61\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u6709\u201c\u9634\u5e73\u201d\u3001\u201c\u9633\u5e73\u201d\u3001\u201c\u9634\u4e0a\u201d\u3001\u201c\u9633\u4e0a\u201d\u3001\u201c\u9634\u53bb\u201d\u3001\u201c\u9633\u53bb\u201d\u3001\u201c\u9634\u5165\u201d\u3001\u201c\u9633\u5165\u201d\u7b49\u8c03\uff0c\u5982\u6f6e\u5dde\u8bdd\u3002\u6709\u4e9b\u5730\u65b9\u5219\u201c\u4e0a\u58f0\u201d\u4e0d\u5206\u9634\u9633\uff0c\u5982\u95fd\u5357\u8bed\u6cc9\u6f33\u7247\u3001\u798f\u5dde\u8bdd\u3001\u5ba2\u5bb6\u8bdd\u7b49\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u8fd9\u4e9b\u65b9\u8a00\u5404\u6709\u4e03\u4e2a\u58f0\u8c03\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\u5404\u5730\u65b9\u8a00\u7684\u58f0\u8c03\uff0c\u591a\u5be1\u4e0d\u4e00\uff0c\u6709\u7684\u5c11\u5230\u4e09\u4e2a\uff08\u5982\u6cb3\u5317\u6ee6\u53bf\uff09\uff0c\u6709\u7684\u591a\u81f3\u5341\u4e2a\uff08\u5982\u5e7f\u897f\u535a\u767d\u53bf\uff09\u3002<\/p>\n<p>In terms of tone, after the Yuan Dynasty Zhou Deqing&#8217;s Central Plains phonology, the &#8220;ping sound&#8221; of the northern voice has been divided into two types, namely &#8220;yinping&#8221; and &#8220;yangping&#8221;. The law of its evolution is roughly as follows: the ancient sounds belong to the characters of the clear consonants and are pronounced as &#8220;yinping&#8221; in modern times; the ancient sounds belong to the characters of the voiced initials and are pronounced as &#8220;yangping&#8221; in modern times. This is why the &#8220;pingsheng&#8221; in Peking dialect is divided into &#8220;yinping&#8221; and &#8220;yangping&#8221;. As for the three tones of &#8220;going up, going, and entering&#8221; in other places, there are some phenomena that are divided into two types of yin and yang. Tones such as &#8220;go&#8221;, &#8220;yin enter&#8221;, &#8220;yang enter&#8221;, such as Chaozhou dialect. In some places, &#8220;Shangsheng&#8221; does not distinguish between yin and yang, such as Quanzhang, Fuzhou dialect, Hakka dialect, etc., so these dialects each have seven tones.
